Book Borrowing Policy


Dear Parent/Guardian,

Your child is allowed to borrow books from the Benchley-Weinberger school library for a period of two weeks.

Please help your child find a special place to keep the books so that they can be found easily and returned. Encourage your child to read by reading with your child and providing a TV/computer free period in your home. Talk about books that you are reading with your child.

Use of school library books requires the following:

  1. Return books on time.
  2. Make sure that your child's hands are clean before reading library books.
  3. Keep books away from food, drink, pets, and younger siblings.
  4. Use bookmarks or a piece of paper to mark the page.
  5. If damage to the book occurs, do not attempt to repair it. Please bring it back to the school library as soon as possible. Please remember that you, as the parent/guardian, are responsible for lost or damaged books.
